Wrap Around Care Service
Toadhall Montessori Nurseries and Out of School Academy, has been offering ‘Wrap Around Care’ for over 25 years. We have gained an excellent reputation in relation to the high standard of service we provide and have gained highly professional relationships with many of the local primary schools. Toadhall Montessori aims to provide continuity of care to all children who are going into ‘big school’ and taking up their part time entitlement .Our ‘Wrap Around Care’ service aims to ensure a seamless transition for every child into full time education.
Toadhall Montessori Nursery ‘Wrap Around Care’ service is available to those children who attend state nursery, who may need childcare before and after their state nursery sessions. Toadhall Montessori Nurseries and the Childcare Offer
Toadhall Montessori Nurseries and Out of School Academy, is registered to provide the Childcare Offer Wales, for eligible children from the term after their 3rd birthday to when they start full time school in the reception class. The Childcare Offer supports eligible Parents with childcare for up 30 hours per week, for 48 weeks of the year. This includes up to 9 weeks of school holidays, depending on which time/term in the year, you become registered for the offer.
At Toadhall Montessori we believe this is a fantastic opportunity for parents of 3 and 4 year olds, offering them financial support towards their childcare costs.
The Childcare Offer is running very successfully at Toadhall Montessori Nurseries and Out of School Academy.
We have had a high percentage of eligible parents taking up the Childcare Offer which supports childcare fees by up to £78.75p per week during term time and £135-00p towards full fees per week during 9 weeks of the school holidays.
The main aims of the Childcare Offer for Wales are to: –
- Provide financial support for most parents in relation to childcare costs
- Encouraging Parents to return to work, upskill and/or gain promotion
- Provide financial support through supporting childcare costs, to allow parents to increase their working hours
- Create more disposable income

Please ensure you read through all of the information on the website, especially in relation to when your child will become eligible, parent eligibility and parental responsibility in accepting and using the scheme. Please note: -your child will become eligible the term AFTER their 3rd birthday.
During term time, the 30 hours offer, is made up of the hours your child attends their part time entitlement at a state Foundation Phase Nursery, (FPN).
For example, in Cardiff children attend their FPN for 12.5 hours per week. This means up to 17.5 hours can be claimed under the Childcare Offer. Other Local Authorities may vary on how the 30 hours is made up.
Parents can also claim childcare costs for up to 30 hours per week for a maximum, 9, of the 13 weeks school holidays. The other 4 weeks are paid for in full at the current fees rate, by parents. Parents pay Toadhall Montessori Nurseries and Out of School Academy, for meals and snacks and any wrap around care/childcare charges.
The hourly rate for the Childcare Offer is currently £4-50p per hour. We charge £7-50 for meals and snacks, as agreed by the Childcare Offer. These rates are for the whole of Wales.
As stated previously, during term time the Childcare Offer in Cardiff would be worth
17.5 X £4-50p = £78.75p towards full fees per week during term time.
The Childcare Offer can also support childcare fees for each of the 9 weeks of the school holidays This means the Childcare Offer would be worth 30 X £4-50p = £135 towards full fees per week during 9 weeks of the school holidays.
NB: -The number of Holiday Weeks you can get support with, depends on which time in the year you become registered and commence the offer. Holiday weeks must be booked with Toadhall Montessori, for the rest of the year when you sign up for the Childcare Offer.
Please note: -If holiday weeks are booked under the Childcare Offer, they MUST be taken, if not, then parents will have to pay Toadhall Montessori the full daily rate. As parents, you are contracted first and foremost to Toadhall Montessori Nurseries and Out of School Academy on a 52-week basis and not on a 48 week basis, which the Childcare Offer covers.
Children who have turned 4 by the end of the Summer Term will be eligible to use the Childcare Offer for attending the Toadhall Montessori Summer Holiday Academy, depending on when they became eligible for the Childcare Offer and the number of holiday weeks already used.
Please also note: – In order to ensure sustainability at Toadhall Montessori Nursery, we will only be providing the Childcare Offer for children attending more than 2 days and accessing their part time Foundation Phase Nursery entitlement.
We will not be able to deliver the Childcare Offer for children who attend half days, or just one day, as this is not financially viable option for us.
* This is due to the fact that, the current funding levels of £4-50 per hour and the stipulations from the Welsh Assembly as to what we can charge parents, does not cover our current daily rate of £60

Miss Jackie will then set up a meeting to discuss what will be claimed and what needs to be paid by parents. You will also need to sign a Toadhall Montessori Childcare Offer Contract. This will be done during a one to one meeting with parents. During this meeting Miss Jackie will also discuss the need for you cancelling or amending your Childcare Vouchers, to avoid overpaying etc.
Remember the following steps need to be taken to use the Childcare Offer for paying a part of your fees at Toadhall Montessori Nurseries.
- Read up on the Childcare Offer on the Welsh Government website
- Decide if you feel you and your child meet the eligibility criteria. You cannot claim for Childcare Tax Credits and the Childcare Offer. It is one or the other.
- Inform Toadhall Montessori Nurseries and Out of School Academy, in writing via email to state you are going take up the Childcare Offer BEFORE you register – email office@toadhallmontessorinurseries.co.uk
- Attend a one to one meeting with Miss Jackie to go through what the Childcare Offer will mean for you and to complete a Childcare Offer Contract
- Register for the Childcare Offer
- Inform us in writing via email to state you are registered and to give any further information we need to access your child’s name on our list, to enable us to claim your fees due under the Childcare Offer
- Cancel or amend you Childcare Voucher payments so as not to overpay and avoid further charges!
